Andrew Ranger and GCMI successfully tightened up the point standings, as they jumped from being 30 points behind the series leader to a mere 14. The 2nd place finish in the Wahta Springs 300 at Barrie Motor Speedway gave GCMI and Ranger a serious shot at winning the Championship.
The Antigonish, NS at the Wilson Equipment 300 found Ranger in a position where he was one of two cars in serious contention to win the race. After being 2nd for 50 laps, the team was hampered by front suspension problems, and eventually finished an unnerving 12th.
Kawartha Speedway hosted the Pinty's 250 to conclude the 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) presented by Mobile 1. This was one of the most exciting races of the season featuring several highlight-reel crashes, exhilarating competitive racing, and a pit-lane brawl between two teams at the conclusion of the race. Andrew Ranger closed out the season on the podium with a 2nd place finish, which placed the GCMI team a respectable 3rd overall in the championship.
